Narrative objectives1 - This pilot study aims to examine the feasibility and potential effectiveness of a Mindful Self-Compassion Program for Healthcare Professionals among Japanese healthcare professionals, as one component of a broader training program. The broader program is being developed to support healthcare professionals who encounter difficult ethical issues, including medical futility, in learning how to respond appropriately to their own emotional reactions in clinical settings and how to engage with patients emotionally in an appropriate manner.

Key inclusion criteria - Physicians and nurses who have been involved in end-of-life care, and resident physicians who are planning to undertake, or are currently undertaking, training in specialties related to end-of-life care.
Key exclusion criteria - Individuals whom the principal investigator judges to be unsuitable for participation in the study
