Tokyo, Oct. 1 -- UMIN Clinical Trials Registry (UMIN-CTR) received information related to the study (UMIN000062855) titled 'Comparison of Pre-shock Pause Duration Across Different Defibrillator Models' on Oct. 1.
Study Type:
Interventional
Study Design:
Basic Design - Single arm
Randomization - Non-randomized
Blinding - Open -no one is blinded
Control - Self control
Primary Sponsor:
Institute - Niigata University of Health and Welfare
Condition:
Condition - Patients with cardiac arrest
Classification by malignancy - Others
Genomic information - NO
Objective:
Narrative objectives1 - This study aimed to compare pre-shock pause time (PSPT) across three representative defibrillator models commonly used in Japanese prehospital emergency care using a standardized protocol, and to generate evidence to support evidence-based defibrillator selection in emergency medical services.
Basic objectives2 - Efficacy
Intervention:
Interventions/Control_1 - Simulation Experiment: Each participant will take part in a simulation experiment lasting approximately 1 hour. A 4-minute cardiac arrest simulation scenario will be conducted with three participants per group, assigned to the roles of defibrillator operator, ventilation provider, and chest compression provider.
Using a randomized crossover design, all participants will perform each role with each of the three defibrillator models under evaluation. Consequently, each group will complete a total of nine simulation trials (three defibrillator models three roles).
