Tokyo, Nov. 14 -- UMIN Clinical Trials Registry (UMIN-CTR) received information related to the study (UMIN000059755) titled 'A Retrospective Observational Study on Overall Survival Rates by Chemotherapy Regimen in Patients with Distant Metastases Following Oral Cancer Treatment' on Nov. 13.

Study Type: Observational

Primary Sponsor: Institute - Nagasaki University

Condition: Condition - Oral cancer Classification by malignancy - Malignancy Genomic information - NO

Objective: Narrative objectives1 - This study examines cases of oral cancer with distant metastasis treated according to NCCN guidelines. We first clarify the proportion of distant metastases by site and identify risk factors. We also calculate overall survival rates based on the timing of drug approval to evaluate the extent to which new drugs contributed to improved overall survival. Clarifying this will help define the appropriate use of therapeutic agents in distant metastasis cases and contribute to future oral cancer care. Basic objectives2 - Efficacy

Eligibility: Age-lower limit - 20 years-old <= Age-upper limit - Not applicable Gender - Male and Female Key inclusion criteria - Cases treated for oral cancer at Nagasaki University Hospital's Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery between June 1, 2008, and April 30, 2024, in which distant metastasis was identified, treatment for distant metastasis was administered, and the outcome is known. Key exclusion criteria - Cases where medical records contain insufficient documentation, preventing adequate information gathering Target Size - 51

Recruitment Status: Recruitment status - Preinitiation Date of protocol fixation - 2025 Year 11 Month 10 Day Anticipated trial start date - 2025 Year 11 Month 13 Day Last follow-up date - 2028 Year 12 Month 31 Day
