Tokyo, Oct. 4 -- UMIN Clinical Trials Registry (UMIN-CTR) received information related to the study (UMIN000063165) titled 'Survey on the association between cardiometabolic risk and work-rest conditions in truck drivers' on Oct. 3.
Study Type:
Observational
Primary Sponsor:
Institute - International University of Health and Welfare
Condition:
Condition - Cardiometabolic risk factors (obesity, hypertension, dyslipidemia, diabetes mellitus)
Classification by malignancy - Others
Genomic information - NO
Objective:
Narrative objectives1 - This study aims to cross-sectionally examine the association between objectively measured cardiometabolic risk factors (CMRFs) from health examination data (BMI, blood pressure, blood glucose, lipid levels, etc.) and work-rest conditions (driving patterns, frequency of night driving, sleep duration, days off activities, etc.) collected via a web-based questionnaire among truck drivers employed at small-to-medium-sized transport companies. Specifically, the study tests whether the degree of work burden including night driving and inadequate rest conditions are significantly associated with objective CMRFs (Hypothesis 1), and whether inadequate rest conditions independently contribute to elevated objective CMRFs beyond subjective fatigue accumulation (Hypothesis 2).
Basic objectives2 - Others
