Tokyo, June 19 -- UMIN Clinical Trials Registry (UMIN-CTR) received information related to the study (UMIN000061939) titled 'Association of Fibrinogen Levels and Platelet Counts Immediately After Separation From Cardiopulmonary Bypass With Time to Surgical Completion: A Retrospective Cohort Study' on June 17.

Study Type: Observational

Primary Sponsor: Institute - Asahikawa Medical University

Condition: Condition - Cardiovascular surgery requiring cardiopulmonary bypass Classification by malignancy - Others Genomic information - NO

Objective: Narrative objectives1 - This study aims to evaluate whether fibrinogen levels and platelet counts measured immediately after separation from cardiopulmonary bypass are associated with time to surgical completion. The association between these hemostatic parameters and post-bypass blood loss will also be investigated. Basic objectives2 - Efficacy

Eligibility: Age-lower limit - 18 years-old <= Age-upper limit - Not applicable Gender - Male and Female Key inclusion criteria - Adult patients undergoing cardiovascular surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass through a median sternotomy. Patients in whom both fibrinogen level and platelet count were measured within 30 minutes after separation from cardiopulmonary bypass. Key exclusion criteria - 1. Patients who required reinstitution of cardiopulmonary bypass during the same surgical procedure (second pump run). 2. Patients with missing data for the primary explanatory variables, including fibrinogen level or platelet count measured immediately after separation from cardiopulmonary bypass. Target Size - 600

Recruitment Status: Recruitment status - Preinitiation Date of protocol fixation - 2026 Year 04 Month 28 Day Date of IRB - 2026 Year 04 Month 28 Day Anticipated trial start date - 2026 Year 06 Month 17 Day Last follow-up date - 2027 Year 03 Month 31 Day
