Tokyo, Aug. 16 -- UMIN Clinical Trials Registry (UMIN-CTR) received information related to the study (UMIN000062548) titled 'Circulating Interleukin-6 Levels Across Behcet's Disease and Large Vessel Vasculitis: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis' on Aug. 10.
Study Type:
Others,meta-analysis etc
Primary Sponsor:
Institute - Yokohama City University Graduate School of Medicine
Condition:
Condition - Behcet's Disease
Classification by malignancy - Others
Genomic information - NO
Objective:
Narrative objectives1 - Behcet's disease (BD) is an inflammatory disease that can involve severe organ manifestations affecting the eyes, nervous system, blood vessels, and gastrointestinal tract, potentially leading to irreversible organ damage. Circulating interleukin-6 (IL-6) levels have been reported to be associated with disease activity and severe organ involvement in BD. IL-6 is also known to play an important role in the pathogenesis of large vessel vasculitis.
This study aims to conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis of studies comparing circulating IL-6 levels between patients with BD, Takayasu arteritis, or giant cell arteritis and healthy controls, and to quantitatively evaluate the elevation of circulating IL-6 levels in each disease.
Basic objectives2 - Others
