Objective:
Narrative objectives1 - The present study investigates whether a brief, passive group psychoeducational intervention, designed after the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and the information model, could increase intentions to seek psychological counseling (ISPC) for depression and substance use disorders (SUD) among undergraduate students in Lahore, Pakistan.
Basic objectives2 - Efficacy
Intervention:
Interventions/Control_1 - In the intervention group, university students will receive three weekly lecture-based group psychoeducational sessions on depression
Interventions/Control_2 - In the wait-list control group, university students will not receive group psychoeducational sessions on depression until after the post-assessment.

Key inclusion criteria - Eligible participants will be full-time undergraduate students enrolled in private or public universities in Lahore, Pakistan, and who screen positive for either depression or substance use disorder as determined through a screening measure.
Key exclusion criteria - Undergraduate university students will be excluded if they have a personal history of consultation with a mental health professional, indicate active suicidal intent or severe depression, are majoring in psychology, or have a physical disability.
