Tokyo, April 26 -- UMIN Clinical Trials Registry (UMIN-CTR) received information related to the study (UMIN000061373) titled 'A study on changes in gluteus maximus muscle function induced by bridge exercise' on April 26.
Study Type:
Interventional
Study Design:
Basic Design - Parallel
Randomization - Randomized
Blinding - Open -no one is blinded
Control - Active
Primary Sponsor:
Institute - Tokyo Metropolitan University
Condition:
Condition - Healthy adults
Classification by malignancy - Others
Genomic information - NO
Objective:
Narrative objectives1 - The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of a 6-week normal bridge exercise program on gluteus maximus muscle function in healthy adults and to compare these effects with those of single-leg wall squat exercise.
Basic objectives2 - Efficacy
Intervention:
Interventions/Control_1 - Normal bridge group: Participants perform normal bridge exercise at home three times per week for 6 weeks. From the supine position with approximately 120 degrees of knee flexion and 50 degrees of hip flexion, participants raise the pelvis and extend the hips until the shoulder and knee are aligned. One set is performed to RIR 2 to 3, with 1 minute of rest between sets, for a total of 3 sets.
Interventions/Control_2 - Single-leg wall squat group: Participants perform single-leg wall squat exercise at home three times per week for 6 weeks. Participants stand on one leg with their back against a wall and perform knee flexion and extension squats. One set is performed to RIR 2 to 3, with 1 minute of rest between sets, for a total of 3 sets.
