Tokyo, Oct. 15 -- UMIN Clinical Trials Registry (UMIN-CTR) received information related to the study (UMIN000063287) titled 'Effects of transcranial direct current stimulation over the posterior parietal cortex on gait motor imagery' on Oct. 15.

Study Type: Interventional

Study Design: Basic Design - Parallel Randomization - Randomized Blinding - Single blind -participants are blinded Control - Placebo

Primary Sponsor: Institute - Kawasaki University of Medical Welfare

Condition: Condition - Healthy adults Classification by malignancy - Others Genomic information - NO

Objective: Narrative objectives1 - The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of cathodal high-definition transcranial direct current stimulation over the posterior parietal cortex on the updating of gait motor imagery following actual walking experience in healthy young adults. Basic objectives2 - Others

Intervention: Interventions/Control_1 - High-definition transcranial direct current stimulation (HD-tDCS) is applied over the posterior parietal cortex, with the cathode at P3 and the anodes at CP1, CP5, PO3, and PO7. Active stimulation is delivered at 2 mA for 15 min during treadmill walking, followed by sham stimulation during the subsequent rest period. Interventions/Control_2 - High-definition transcranial direct current stimulation (HD-tDCS) is applied over the posterior parietal cortex, with the cathode at P3 and the anodes at CP1, CP5, PO3, and PO7. Sham stimulation is delivered during treadmill walking, followed by active stimulation at 2 mA for 15 min during the subsequent rest period.

Eligibility: Age-lower limit - 18 years-old = Gender - Male and Female Key inclusion criteria - Healthy young adults Right-handed individuals Individuals classified as right-footed based on the Japanese version of the Waterloo Footedness Questionnaire-Revised (total score of +7 or higher) Individuals who provided informed consent after receiving an explanation of the study procedures Key exclusion criteria - Individuals with orthopedic, neurological, or psychiatric disorders, including hypomanic or manic states, that may affect the study outcomes Individuals who meet any exclusion criterion on the safety screening for transcranial electrical stimulation Individuals considered unsuitable for participation by the investigators Target Size - 60
