Tokyo, Feb. 16 -- UMIN Clinical Trials Registry (UMIN-CTR) received information related to the study (UMIN000060676) titled 'Effects of dynamic stretching on leg muscle flexibility and exercise performance: A study using ultrasound' on Feb. 14.

Study Type: Interventional

Study Design: Basic Design - Cross-over Randomization - Randomized Blinding - Open -no one is blinded Control - Dose comparison

Primary Sponsor: Institute - Sapporo Medical University Graduate School

Condition: Condition - None Classification by malignancy - Others Genomic information - NO

Objective: Narrative objectives1 - Through this research, we aim to propose optimal intervention conditions for enhancing flexibility and provide foundational evidence that contributes to the establishment of effective stretching protocols and the prevention of sports injuries. The objective of this study is to quantitatively evaluate the effects of dynamic stretching (DS) on the mechanical properties of lower limb muscles and to clarify whether the reduction in muscle-tendon unit (MTU) stiffness is attributable to changes in the mechanical properties of individual muscles. Furthermore, the study investigates the dose-response relationship regarding the effects of DS on muscle mechanical properties, muscle performance, and jump performance. Basic objectives2 - Efficacy

Intervention: Interventions/Control_1 - 1 set of forward leg swings (dynamic stretching) involving hip flexion and extension in the sagittal plane. Interventions/Control_2 - 3 set of forward leg swings (dynamic stretching) involving hip flexion and extension in the sagittal plane.

Eligibility: Age-lower limit - 18 years-old = Gender - Male and Female Key inclusion criteria - The subjects are healthy young adults with no motor dysfunction in the trunk or lower limbs, consisting of individuals classified by range of motion (ROM) measurements into two groups: those with normal flexibility and those with decreased lower limb flexibility. Key exclusion criteria - Individuals with a history of orthopedic injury or surgery involving the trunk or lower limbs within the past six months, as well as those currently presenting with neuromuscular or cardiac diseases, are excluded from the study. Target Size - 30

Recruitment Status: Recruitment status - Preinitiation Date of protocol fixation - 2026 Year 04 Month 01 Day Anticipated trial start date - 2026 Year 04 Month 30 Day Last follow-up date - 2030 Year 03 Month 31 Day
