Tokyo, May 28 -- UMIN Clinical Trials Registry (UMIN-CTR) received information related to the study (UMIN000061711) titled 'Effects of gamma transcranial alternating current stimulation over the posterior parietal cortex on episodic memory retention following semantic exposure' on May 27.
Study Type:
Interventional
Study Design:
Basic Design - Parallel
Randomization - Randomized
Blinding - Double blind -all involved are blinded
Control - Placebo
Primary Sponsor:
Institute - Niigata University of Health and Welfare
Condition:
Condition - Health adults
Classification by malignancy - Others
Genomic information - NO
Objective:
Narrative objectives1 - To investigate whether gamma-band (40 Hz) transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS) applied bilaterally over the posterior parietal cortex immediately after learning modulates the long-term retention and memory stabilization processes of initially learned episodic memories under conditions of exposure to semantically related subsequent information.
Basic objectives2 - Efficacy
Intervention:
Interventions/Control_1 - Gamma (40 Hz) transcranial alternating current stimulation over the bilateral posterior parietal cortices
Interventions/Control_2 - 1Hz transcranial alternating current stimulation over the bilateral posterior parietal cortices
