Tokyo, Sept. 29 -- UMIN Clinical Trials Registry (UMIN-CTR) received information related to the study (UMIN000063080) titled 'Effects of knee flexion training at different hip angles on hamstring strength and muscle morphology' on Sept. 28.

Study Type: Interventional

Study Design: Basic Design - Parallel Randomization - Randomized Blinding - Open -no one is blinded Control - No treatment

Primary Sponsor: Institute - Waseda University

Condition: Condition - Healthy male adults Classification by malignancy - Others Genomic information - NO

Objective: Narrative objectives1 - To compare changes in knee flexion strength and hamstring muscle morphology following 8 weeks of isometric knee flexion training performed at 0 degrees or 90 degrees of hip flexion and to determine the effects of hip flexion angle on long term training adaptations. Basic objectives2 - Efficacy

Intervention: Interventions/Control_1 - Hip flexion 0 degrees group. Isometric knee flexion training is performed with the dominant leg at 0 degrees of hip flexion and 30 degrees of knee flexion. Participants perform 5 sets of 5 maximal voluntary isometric contractions. Each contraction lasts 5 seconds with 10 seconds of rest between contractions and 1 minute of rest between sets. Training is performed twice per week for 8 weeks for a total of 16 sessions with at least 48 hours between sessions. Interventions/Control_2 - Hip flexion 90 degrees group. Isometric knee flexion training is performed with the dominant leg at 90 degrees of hip flexion and 30 degrees of knee flexion.

Eligibility: Age-lower limit - 18 years-old = Gender - Male Key inclusion criteria - Healthy males aged 18 to 30 years who regularly engage in physical activity at least twice per week. Key exclusion criteria - Individuals with pain or injury of the trunk or lower limbs at the time of measurement, those with a medical condition that may affect exercise performance, and those with a history of major trauma or surgery involving the trunk or lower limbs. Target Size - 42

Recruitment Status: Recruitment status - Preinitiation Date of protocol fixation - 2026 Year 07 Month 20 Day Anticipated trial start date - 2026 Year 11 Month 01 Day Last follow-up date - 2027 Year 06 Month 30 Day
