Tokyo, April 22 -- UMIN Clinical Trials Registry (UMIN-CTR) received information related to the study (UMIN000061110) titled 'Effects of participation in community sports clubs on overall motor competence in preschool children' on April 20.

Study Type: Interventional

Study Design: Basic Design - Parallel Randomization - Randomized Blinding - Open -no one is blinded Control - No treatment

Primary Sponsor: Institute - Niigata University of Health and Welfare

Condition: Condition - preschool children aged 3 to 5 years Classification by malignancy - Others Genomic information - NO

Objective: Narrative objectives1 - In the early preschool years (approximately 3-5 years of age), the nervous system undergoes rapid development, and diverse movement experiences play a critical role in shaping overall motor competence, including not only fundamental movement skills such as running, jumping, and throwing, but also coordination, balance, and object-control skills. These developmental processes further influence physical activity habits, physical fitness, perceived motor competence, and emotional development, and may contribute to later motor competence, continued sports participation, and the reduction of health disparities after school entry. However, due to differences in preschool, home, and community environments, access to high-quality movement opportunities is not equally distributed. Accordingly, effective support models at the preschool stage, together with empirical evidence of their effectiveness, are needed. Nevertheless, few studies have longitudinally compared children who participate in community sports clubs with non-participants in order to clarify which domains of motor competence are affected and to what extent. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine how participation in a community sports club influences overall motor competence in preschool children. Basic objectives2 - Efficacy
