Tokyo, June 23 -- UMIN Clinical Trials Registry (UMIN-CTR) received information related to the study (UMIN000062008) titled 'Evaluation of the Suppressive Effects of Aerobic Exercise on Caffeine Crash in Athletes' on June 22.

Objective:
Narrative objectives1 - Caffeine crash is a condition in which fatigue and reduced concentration occur as caffeine levels in the body decrease, typically about 12 hours after caffeine intake. Previous studies have suggested that aerobic exercise performed approximately 12 hours after caffeine consumption may reduce caffeine crash symptoms. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of 10 to 30 minutes of aerobic exercise on caffeine crash symptoms by comparing a group that performs aerobic exercise with a group that does not.
Basic objectives2 - Efficacy
Intervention:
Interventions/Control_1 - Participants will consume 1.5 mg of caffeine per kilogram of body weight (instant coffee) at 8:00 a.m. The intervention will be administered once daily. In the non-exercise group, assessments will be conducted 12 hours after caffeine ingestion without performing aerobic exercise.
Interventions/Control_2 - Participants will consume 1.5 mg of caffeine per kilogram of body weight in the form of instant coffee at 8:00 a.m. Caffeine will be administered once per day.
In the aerobic exercise group, participants will perform 10 to 15 minutes of aerobic exercise 12 hours after caffeine ingestion, followed by the assessment.
Eligibility:
Age-lower limit - 18
years-old

Key inclusion criteria - An information session will be held for approximately 25 female volleyball players. Athletes who fully understand the purpose and procedures of the study and provide written informed consent will be enrolled in the study.
