Objective:
Narrative objectives1 - Self-stigma in help-seeking has been identified as a primary inhibitor of help-seeking. Furthermore, it has been established that self-stigma in help-seeking negatively correlates with help-seeking orientation, and that experiential avoidance and value influence help-seeking orientation. Therefore, this study aims to examine the effectiveness of an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) intervention targeting self-stigma in requesting help from close others.
Basic objectives2 - Efficacy
Intervention:
Interventions/Control_1 - Online video streaming sessions on ACT will be conducted. The videos utilize a shortened and revised version of the self-help ACT program developed for promoting and maintaining mental health among university students (Shima & Tsuda, 2025). Sessions will be streamed every Monday for a total of three weeks.

Age-lower limit - 18

Key inclusion criteria - Ability to read documents in Japanese.
Possession of a smartphone or computer and familiarity with their operation.
Key exclusion criteria - Participants must currently be receiving care at a psychiatry or psychosomatic medicine clinic.
Other cases where the program facilitator determines that participation may compromise the safe implementation of the program.
