Narrative objectives1 - This study aimed to investigate the association between sleep patterns and diabetes in U.S. adults using data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES).

Key inclusion criteria - Participants aged 15 years or older who participated in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES).
Availability of sleep-related information, including sleep duration, sleep disorders, sleep quality, and daytime sleepiness.
Availability of glycemic data, including diabetes status, glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), and fasting plasma glucose.
Availability of covariates required for the analysis, including age, sex, body mass index (BMI), and lifestyle factors.
Key exclusion criteria - Participants aged <15 years.
Participants with missing sleep-related information.
Participants with missing data required for the diagnosis of diabetes.
Participants with missing key covariates required for the analysis.
Pregnant participants.
Participants considered inappropriate for inclusion in the analysis at the discretion of the principal investigator.
