Objective: Narrative objectives1 - The purpose of this scoping review was as follows: (1) to identify studies examining support provided within the healthcare, educational, and welfare sectors in Japan for elementary and junior high school students experiencing school refusal associated with mental health challenges, and their families; and (2) to identify the content of such support and to explore directions for future research. Eligibility: Age-lower limit - 6 years-old = Gender - Male and Female Key inclusion criteria - 1.Focused on elementary and/or junior high school students experiencing school refusal and/or their families. 2.Including reference to mental health challenges associated with school refusal. 3.Describing psychosocial and/or interprofessional or collaborative support. 4.Support implemented in healthcare, educational, or welfare settings, or across sectors. 5.Sufficient reporting to allow extraction of relevant findings. Key exclusion criteria - 1.Not focused on elementary and/or junior high school students experiencing school refusal and/or their families. 2.Not referring to mental health challenges associated with school refusal. 3.Not describing psychosocial or collaborative support. 4.Not empirical or lacking sufficient methodological detail. 5.Focused solely on learning or general parenting support not clearly related to mental health challenges. 6.Not reporting sufficient information to allow extraction of relevant findings.
