TOKYO, Sept. 12 -- JASDF issued the following news:

From September 9 to 11, General MORITA Takehiro, Chief of Staff, Koku-Jieitai (JASDF) and Lieutenant General MOMMA Masahito, Vice Chief of Staff, KokuJieitai held meetings (including VTCs) with senior officials of U.S. Forces, including General David W. Allvin, Chief of Staff of the U.S. Air Force (USAF).

On September 9, General MORITA held a VTC with General Allvin, Chief of Staff, USAF. During the VTC, they exchanged views on enhancing interoperability through various opportunities and reaffirmed the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two air services.

The following day, September 10, Lieutenant General Laura L. Lenderman, Deputy Commander, Pacific Air Forces visited Ichigaya and held talks with Gen MORITA and Lt Gen MOMMA. They discussed items regarding Japan-U.S. bilateral trainings and exercises. On the same day, Brigadier General Brian A. Denaro, Commander, U.S. Space Forces Indo-Pacific also visited Ichigaya and held discussions with Gen MORITA and Lt Gen MOMMA. During the meeting, they reaffirmed the importance of ensuring the stable use of space.

On September 11, General MORITA held a VTC with General Kevin B. Schneider, Commander, Pacific Air Forces. They exchanged views on how to leverage bilateral training opportunities and discussed the way ahead for cooperation between the two air services in the region.

Koku-Jieitai will continue working closely with the U.S. Forces to further strengthen the deterrence and response capabilities of the Japan-U.S. Alliance, thereby contributing to regional peace and stability.
