TOKYO, Oct. 23 -- JASDF issued the following news:
On October 20 and 21, General MORITA Takehiro, Chief of Staff, Japan Air SelfDefense Force (Koku-Jieitai) observed the Seoul International Aerospace & Defense Exhibition (Seoul ADEX) and participated in the International Aerospace
Symposium, at the invitation of Chief of Staff, Republic of Korea Air Force.
During the visit to Korea, General Morita held a meeting with General Son Sug
Rag, Chief of Staff, Republic of Korea Air Force. They confirmed the importance of
bilateral cooperation between Japan and the Republic Korea, and trilateral cooperation among Japan, the Republic of Korea, and the United States, and exchanged
views on future exchanges and cooperation between the two air services across
various fields. General Morita also held meetings with air chiefs from other participating countries and reaffirmed the importance of further promotion of defense cooperation and exchanges
Notably, this marked the first visit to Korea by the Chief of Staff, Koku-Jieitai in ten
years, and the first bilateral meeting with Chief of Staff, Republic of Korea Air Force
since 2015.
Koku-Jieitai will continue to contribute to regional peace and stability, as well as
the realization of a Free and Open Indo-Pacific, through cooperation with the Republic of Korea Air Force and other partners.
