TOKYO, Sept. 18 -- Joint Staff issued the following press release:
At around 5:00 p.m., Saturday, September 13, 2025, JMSDF spotted PLAN
Luyang-III-class DDG x 2 (hull number 132 and 135) sailing southeastward
in the waters approximately 120 km northeast of Miyako-jima Island.
These PLAN vessels continued to sail southeastward through the waters
between Okinawa Main Island and Miyako-jima Island into the Pacific
Ocean.
At around 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 14, 2025, JMSDF spotted PLAN
Jiangkai-II-class FFG x 1 (hull number 577) and Fuchi-class AOR x 1 (hull
number 890) sailing southeastward in the waters approximately 100 km
northeast of Miyako-jima Island.
These PLAN vessels continued to sail southeastward through the waters
between Okinawa Main Island and Miyako-jima Island into the Pacific
Ocean.
At around 7:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 16, 2025, JMSDF spotted PLAN
Luyang-III-class DDG x 1 (hull number 135) sailing northward in the waters
approximately 110 km northeast of Miyako-jima Island
The PLAN DDG continued to sail northward through the waters between
Okinawa Main Island and Miyako-jima Island into the East China Sea.
JMSDF assets monitored the activities of these vessels.
