On March 17, commencing at 4:00 p.m. for approximately 35 minutes, Dr. KUNIMITSU Ayano, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call from Dr. Javid Abdelmoneim, President of Medecins Sans Frontieres International. The overview of the courtesy call is as follows:

At the outset, State Minister KUNIMITSU, while referring to her own experience in medical assistance, expressed her respect for the staff of Medecins Sans Frontieres who are engages in medical activities around the world. President Abdelmoneim expressed appreciation for Japan's contributions to humanitarian issues, including promotion of adherence to international humanitarian law and protection of humanitarian personnel, and provided an overview of Medecins Sans Frontieres' activities.The two sides exchanged views on the humanitarian situations around the world, including in Palestine and Sudan.
