TOKYO, May 11 -- Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan issued the following news release:
On May 12, Dr. KUNIMITSU Ayano, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call from Ms. Ahunna Eziakonwa, Assistant Administrator and Director of the of the Regional Bureau for Africa, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
State Minister KUNIMITSU expressed her appreciation to the UNDP for its contributions as a co-organizer of TICAD, and stated Japan's intention to work together with the UNDP in Africa in areas such as achieving sustainable economic growth, promoting digital transformation (DX), and investment in youth and women.
In response, Director Ezakonwa expressed gratitude for Japan's support for UNDP and stated that UNDP would like to continue its cooperation with Japan, an important partner, across a wide range of fields.
Both sides agreed to continue working closely together towards the next 10th TICAD.
