TOKYO, Aug. 1 -- Ministry of Health, Labour & Welfare issued the following press release:
The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare compiles data on job offers, job seekers, and employment at public employment security offices (Hello Work), creates indicators such as the job offer ratio, and publishes them monthly as the general employment placement situation.
Looking at the figures for June 2025, the seasonally adjusted active job offer ratio was 1.22, down 0.02 points from the previous month.
The seasonally adjusted new job offer ratio was 2.18, up 0.04 points from the previous month.
The seasonally adjusted active job offer ratio for full-time employees was 1.02, down 0.02 points from the previous month.
The seasonally adjusted active job offer ratio for June was down 1.2% from the previous month, while the seasonally adjusted active job seekers increased 0.4%.
The original figures for new job offers in June were down 2.5% compared to the same month last year.
Looking at this by industry, there were increases in information and communications (up 5.2%), academic research, professional and technical services (up 1.8%), and construction (up 1.4%), while there were decreases in wholesale and retail (down 11.7%), daily life-related services and entertainment (down 9.1%), and education and learning support (down 2.4%).
Looking at the effective job offer ratio (seasonally adjusted) by prefecture, by place of employment, the highest was Fukui Prefecture at 1.84 times and the lowest was Osaka Prefecture at
1.04 times, and by place of acceptance, the highest was Tokyo and Fukui Prefecture at 1.70 times and the lowest was Kanagawa Prefecture at 0.85 times.
