The Overseas Training Cruise 2025 unit conducted a goodwill exercise with the Brazilian Navy (BN) as described below.
1. Objectives (1) To improve the JMSDF's tactical capabilities (2) To promote friendship and mutual understanding with the BN
2. Date August 23 and 29
3.Exercise Area In the vicinity of Santos and Rio de Janeiro
4. Participating Units (1) JMSDF: JS KASHIMA, JS SHIMAKAZE (2) BN: BNS DEFENSORA, BNS UNIAO, AF-1, AH-11B, Divers
5. Type of Exercises (1) August 23: Diving training (2) August 29: Tactical Exercise (Anti-Air Warfare, Cross Deck etc.), COMMEX, PHOTOEX
6. Notes JS KASHIMA, JS SHIMAKAZE made a port visit at Santos, Federative Republic of Brazil from August 24 to 28. This year marks the 130th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Brazil.
