TOKYO, Sept. 22 -- JMSDF issued the following news:
Participation in Multilateral Exercise (UNITAS2025) hosted by the United States Navy
The Overseas Training Cruise 2025 unit participated in a multilateral exercise "UNITAS2025" hosted
by the United States Navy (USN) as described below in order to strengthen cooperation to realize a
"Free and Open Indo-Pacific."
1. Objectives
(1) To improve the JMSDF's tactical capabilities
(2) To strengthen cooperation with the participating countries
2. Period
September 19 - 20

In the vicinity of Mayport
4. Participating Units
JMSDF: JS KASHIMA, JS SHIMAKAZE
5. Type of Exercise
Tactical Maneuvering, COMMEX, PHOTOEX
6. Notes
(1) This is the first time that the JMSDF unit has participated in this exercise.
(2) JS KASHIMA, JS SHIMAKAZE made a port visit to Jacksonville, the U.S., from September 17 to
19.
